What do you do here at Wells and how did you get started?

I am a senior client advisor in the commercial lines department. I will have worked at Wells for three years at the end of this year. I moved from New Jersey to Wilmington because I just did not want to live in New Jersey anymore. I wanted to be closer to the beach so I picked Wilmington at random. My husband and I moved down here and then went looking for jobs. I already worked in insurance so I was just looking to continue my career, I saw Wells, I applied and then the rest is history.

Favorite Movie: Innerstellar with Matthew McConaughey

Why Wells? What do you like most about working here?

Well, initially I just kind of picked it at random, but the reason I’ve stayed as long as I have is because of the people. Specifically my producer that I work with, Randy Reeves. He’s great I love him and my manager Jessica Parker! I really look forward to seeing the team I work with.

What do you enjoy most about your specific job?

What I enjoy most about my job working with such a variety of clients. There’s so many different things that might come up and just learning everyday.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?

I would like to just travel more. If COVID has taught us anything, it’s just to like live your life, ’cause you never know when things are going to be shut down and then you’re stuck. We moved here 2019 and I didn’t get much of the Wilmington experience. Even just traveling around North Carolina would be fun. I would love to go to Greece, but just got back from Ireland and England. That was really fun and I would go back. I would go all over Europe. I would also love to go back and visit family in India as well.

Best career lesson you’ve learned over the years?

The best lesson I’ve learned is to communicate with everyone on your team. As the middleman, we’re helping out our client and we’re also working with our insurance carriers. At the end of the day we are all a team. Communicating is the best thing for keeping everyone in the loop  carriers want to know what’s going on with the person they’re writing the insurance for, our clients want to know what can they expect coming up on their accounts. So I think having good communication is the best lesson I’ve learned.

How has working at Wells positively impacted your life?

Coming to work here has definitely helped me gain more balance in my work and personal life. I didn’t have that before. Part of it is that I’m just a workaholic, so coming here and having the right team and the right support made it very easy for me to to balance my personal and work life, and I like what I do.

Favorite Musician: My favorite right now is Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak’s band called Silk Sonic. I love their album.

How do you define success?

I define success as going home at the end of the day and you feel good about what you’ve done. You feel that you’ve accomplished something, you’ve helped somebody, and that you’ve given your best.

What’s your favorite volunteer organization?

I used to love working with any kind of like animal shelter. I love doing that.  dog

beach with familyWhat do you like to do when you’re not working?

I love to go to the beach. I go to the beach a lot. We also just bought a boat at the end of last season, so we’ve gotten to use it a lot more this year. I love plants too. I love getting little house plants and gardening, taking walks, anything relaxing.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

The best advice that I have been given is to just communicate with my clients and with my underwriters to build a relationship. That’s been key and I think what has gotten me to where I am today. Because I have built good relationships with them, they come to me, they trust me and that, in the long run, helps you maintain your clients and partnerships.
